I apologize if I'm posting something you all already know, but I've played through KOTOR 2 several times and I've never discovered this. So, assembling HK-47..from what I've gleaned from Google searches and whatnot over the years, the accepted fastest way to do this is to grab the first part from the HK-50 on Peragus, the second part from the trio on the snowy mesa, the third part from Kobin on Nar Shaddaa, and the fourth part from the HK-50s when playing as T3-M4 in Vogga the Hutt's warehouse (also on Nar Shaddaa but unfortunately at the very end of the planet's main quest), mostly because going this route will also let you assemble your lightsaber quickly. I've always assembled HK-47 in this order, and for my current playthrough I planned on doing it like this as well, which would of course require me to travel to Nar Shaddaa as my first planet upon leaving Atris' facility. Cool.

Well, for some reason on this playthrough I decided to instead travel from Atris' base back to Citadel Station to collect the bounties of the two criminals you kill on the surface of Telos (the Rodian and Devaronian if you recall). I don't think I've ever done this before. Anyway, I arrived at docking bay 1 and went through the airlock into the hall to make my way to Lt. Grenn to get my bounty cash. Lo and behold, three HK-50s are standing there blocking my path. There's a short bit of dialogue and then I fight and kill the droids. To my surprise there's an HK chassis in the remains. Sweet! Now all I have to do is fly to Nar Shaddaa, quickly run the 20 feet to Kobin's droid shop to get the 4th part and bam, I've assembled HK-47 WAY before I've ever gotten him built in the past, indeed before I've even begun any of the planets, which is amazing.
It's probably worth noting that this is my first restored content mod playthrough, so maybe that would explain it? Do these three droids only spawn when playing the RCM? Do these droids spawn anywhere else, again because of the RCM? I don't think I've ever gone back to Citadel Station before going to any of the Jedi Master planets in my past playthroughs, but even if I haven't I can't be the first to do this. It's not a stretch to imagine a lot of players would want to tidy up the bounties questline with Grenn before embarking on the real quest, but if that were the case you'd think I'd have seen this strategy before online, and I never have. I've only ever seen the Peragus-Snowy Mesa-Kobin-Warehouse routes. Or maybe you all know all about this and I'm preaching to the choir. Regardless, it's new to me and it's a pretty big victory in my book. The earlier one can get HK-47 up and running again, the better. Thanks for reading, y'all.
